This
page will give you information about where your daughter should play
within our summer camp. If you still have questions as to which
Division your daughter should play, then please feel free to
call the Camp
at 858-240-7950.
WE HAVE TWO (2) DIVISIONS
AT CAMP PROVIDED WE HAVE ENOUGH IN BOTH TO HAVE TWO TEAMS. IF NOT,
WE WILL BE COMBINING THE DIVISIONS.
THERE IS A PLACE FOR EVERYONE IN OUR CAMP!
DIVISION ONE
This division is
for PLAYERS IN
GRADES 9 THROUGH 12.
In this
division,
we will take the curriculum at a faster pace. The players will
experience a brief refresher coarse on fundamentals, basically to
break any bad habits and to fine tune basic skills. This division
will then focus on the transition areas (fast breaks, rides, clears
& open field areas). They will dive hard into game-like situations
concentrating on offensive and defensive team concepts. They will
spend some time practicing game-like situations in scrimmage
settings. The camp will round out with several games played against
all other players in their division with the emphasis on learning,
not on winning. All players will leave camp with confidence and ready to contribute to their lacrosse programs.
DIVISION TWO
This
is the division for younger or inexperienced players.
This division is
for PLAYERS IN
GRADES 5 THROUGH 8.
If a player has never played before, is struggling with the
fundamentals, or needs extra attention, then this is the division for you. We will move players
through the curriculum at a slower pace than D1 and concentrate on teaching
proper technique so no bad habits are formed. The camper to staff
ratio in this division is 6:1 instead of the overall camp ratio of
8:1. This division will start the week by
learning the fundamentals properly by some great teachers of
the game. This division will then touch on the transition areas
(fast breaks, rides, clears & open field areas). They will then move
into game-like situations concentrating on offensive and defensive
team concepts. They will spend some time practicing game-like
situations in scrimmage settings, stopping play when mistakes are
made as well as when success is accomplished.
The week will round
out with games.
