MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT
for High School aged players
DATES
July 10th, 11th & 12th, 2008
Tournament Format
This tournament will consist of round-robin
and elimination competition.
On Thursday, all teams will play in a round-robin
format against three other teams in their bracket. The R-R
competition will determine your seed in the elimination bracket.
These R-R Games will be 25 minute, running-time halves, with a five
minute halftime. Each team is allowed 1 timeout per half. Penalties
will be running time as well (30 second techs will be 45 seconds &
60 second personals will be 90 seconds).
On Friday, we move to the elimination brackets. All teams will get
three (3) games during the elimination format, 2 on Friday and one
on Saturday. These elimination
games will be full 12 minute, stop time quarters with each team
allowed 1 time out per half. Penalty time is stopped as well. Please
refer to the tournament bracket page within this packet for exact
times.
Tournament Fees
Our tournament
fees are lower if attached to the housing plans we offer.
Teams NOT being housed by the Tournament at
SDSU
will pay a per player fee of
$60.00.
Teams using the Tournament housing plans at SDSU
will pay a per player fee of
$25.00.
A $300.00
Tournament Deposit is required to secure a spot in the tournament...

Eligibility Requirements
Players must be in high school,
entering grade 9, 10, 11 or 12.
Graduated Seniors are not eligible.
All players and coaches MUST be a member of US Lacrosse.
Coaches must supervise their players at all times.
Tournament Requirements

Lacrosse...
2. All teams must wear the same color uniforms...
3. All Players must wear the required NFHS equipment during
the tournament...
4. A team roster must be provided complete with players grades
and jersey numbers...
5. Any person fighting in or around the tournament will be
ejected from all remaining
games of the tournament...
6. Any coaches displaying unsportsmanlike behavior on/off the
field (as determined by the
Tournament Director) will be
asked to leave the
tournament...
Tournament Facilities
Our Tournament is held at San Diego State University
in San Diego, California. The two fields we will be playing on are
new Nike Turf artificial surfaces. All fields are next to a secure
parking structure and just a short walk from the dormitory where the
teams will be housed. Athletic Trainers will be on hand to handle
all injuries. All cars parking on campus must have a parking permit
displayed at all times. Spectators must purchase a 2 hour parking
pass each day. They can be purchased inside the parking structure at
the fields.
Tournament Housing
Teams will be housed in the dormitories on the
campus at SDSU. The suites hold 8 people and are air-conditioned.
Players staying in the dorms will be required to bring their own
bedding (sheets/blanket or a sleeping bag) and towels. A common
room is located in the suite and video lounge is located in the
lobby of each floor.
All teams MUST have coaches and chaperones staying at the dorms. A
12 players to 1 chaperone/coach is required by the tournament and the
University, no exceptions...
The Tournament staff can supervise the teams in the dormitories
after 9:00pm on Friday night if requested, so coaches and
team chaperones can relax and enjoy San Diego. Advanced arrangements
must be made with the Director.

This package gives you housing
on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights, and breakfast, lunch and
dinner
on Thursday and Friday, with breakfast only on Saturday.
An additional night of lodging
on Saturday night can be arranged for $45.00
per person. This is for those teams wishing to stay in San Diego and
fly out on Sunday so they can see the sights of San Diego. The Zoo,
Sea World or the Beach are great places to go.
Tournament
Arrival & Departure
Teams arriving
by AIR, should arrive in San Diego between 2:00pm and 6:00pm on
Wednesday so the
shuttle service can be arranged if you choose to use it.
Teams arriving by car and staying in the dorm, should arrive on
Wednesday evening between 4:00pm & 6:00pm. The tournament officially ends at
4:00pm on Saturday. Please allow time for players to clean their
dorm room and dorm checkout.
Air Departures should be scheduled for after 6:00pm on Saturday or
anytime on Sunday if staying an additional night.

To & From San Diego State
Airport transfers can be
arranged by the Tournament. The cost of a round trip airport shuttle
ride is $35.00 per person. This is for groups
of 10 or more only. You can always make your own airport
transfer arrangements.
